Company

energy-age wind ltd. & Co.Kg

develops, produces and distributes a wind-power system, which is innovative throughout the world and equipped with a vertically operating rotor, within the service type between 1 – 150 kW. Other engine-power classes are being planned at the moment.

Basic principle of engineering

history pictureThe basic principle is based on the mode of operation of a Krauß rotor according to the principle of horizontal lifting pressure. Compared to the conventional windmills with two or three wings and a horizontal axis, the wind-power systems, type „eightwind”, of the company of energy-age wind are equipped with a vertical axis and three rotor blades. The otherwise low energy efficiency of a free-wheel vertically operating rotor is increased by factors because of the aerodynamically constructed covering areas – according to the principle of a Venturi turbine.

The reason why we reach this high output!

The rotor of the systems of wind passing through of the energy-age wind ltd. & Co. KG having a convex area is hidden by the covering area. In addition this zone of the covering area is arranged the way, that the streaming wind is sucked through a suction area being half as big and will hit the concave area with an accelerated speed. Other fluidic details of the rotors (e. g. principle of lifting pressure) arrange for a further increase of the rotational speed and the torque. The outer covering areas are developed in an aero dynamical way, so that the wind passing the outer side will be accelerated by about a factor of three and that there will be a negative pressure in the small room on the rear side. This is why the rotors can align with the direction of the striking wind in an unhindered way. Because of this special shape forming of the covering areas the disadvantages of a vertically operating rotor will be „eliminated”.

The further development

From the inverted hopper to the covered turbine
The rectilinear cladding of the hopper is developed as a profile of airfoils. As is generally known, an added airfoil on its upside produces a negative pressure and because of this a higher speed. This effect is enforced by the counter wing and by the construction of the rotor, whose three blades simulate profiles of airfoils as well. This is why the product called „eightwind” becomes a further development of the covered turbine belonging to the most effective concentrator constructions; the product becomes the aero dynamically most effective wind-power turbine on the market of renewable forms of energy.
